Gryffin and Bipolar Sunshine Team Up For Uplifting New Single, “Whole Heart”

Gryffin & Bipolar Sunshine – Whole Heart

After the wildfire-like success of his debut single “Heading Home” placed his name in the #1 position on Spotify’s US and Global Viral Charts, LA-based producer Gryffin is ready to continue his wild journey with his brand-new single, “Whole Heart.” Created with the help of UK singer Bipolar Sunshine, this new track is once again an incredible display of the young artist’s unrivaled musical talent, and is sure to take off across the music world in no time.

This isn’t the first time Gryffin and Bipolar Sunshine’s names have crossed paths. As a part of his impressive remix repertoire, Gryffin put his own personal touch on Bipolar Sunshine’s “Daydreamer,” transforming the song into an uplifting, atmospheric dance number.  Now, a year later, the two artists have teamed up to create something that is equally heartwarming and hard-hitting. “Whole Heart” takes you on a journey through pulsing synth waves, slick percussion, and echoing beats, while Bipolar Sunshine’s moving lyricism brings the piece together.

Rezz x Raito – Alien

Rezz x Raito – Alien

Rezz. Remember this name because you’re going to be hearing it mentioned a lot (if you aren’t already). She’s the 21-year-old female producer on the Mau5trap label that is starting to make some serious waves. Her remixes include tracks from Kill the Noise and Deadmau5 have garnered her some attention but it’s her originals that are making statements. Her latest track, “Alien” is no exception.

For her most recent track, she teamed up with Raito to deliver a unique sound that sounds like something out of an updated X-Files movie. Her sound is crazy good and almost sounds like a Deadmau5 from a few years ago, yet darker. It’s a very intriguing sound that keeps the listener desiring more. That said, there will certainly be more to come. The young producer hit the festival circuit this summer and will continue into the fall. Stream her latest below and see if it transports you into another dimension.

Getter – Something New

Getter – Something New

Most producers pick a style and stick with it. If it works, great, then they churn out song after song and after a while they all start to blur together. We, as fans, get bored with that. Luckily for us, Getter, is NOT like that. His latest original track is proof of that. If you thought that the bass head could only produce amazingly gnarly dubstep, well then you were wrong. His latest track is titled, “Something New” and it is exactly that. Something completely new and a total 180 from the grime we have become accustomed to hearing.

“Something New” is a low down, future bass style track that will seriously have you questioning what to expect next. It’s feats like these that make you wonder what Getter will do next. He’s put out a ton of new music recently and is gearing up for a massive tour that you’ll hopefully get to snag a ticket to this fall. What do you think of this music production plot twist? Check out the stream and don’t forget to pre-order a copy of his EP, Wat the Frick before it’s expected release next month.

Dooqu & Ashdown – Dust

Dooqu & Ashdown – Dust

Dooqu & Ashdown have time and time again proven to be the dream team when collaborating together on a record, their previously release “Incompetent Competitions”, was an absolute beauty on Heroic Recordings. Teaming up once again, Dooqu & Ashdown bring forward a track that combine innovative production and raw lyricism. With Ashdown’s dense songwriting and Dooqu’s creative synth work riddled throughout the track, the two hit another home run. At this point they should just write an album together, enjoy.

“I really do believe Ashdown and I have managed to bring out the best elements from each of our skillsets. Ashdown’s vocals and my production really have achieved an immersive sound. I hope people will be able to feel this track.” – Dooqu

Dillon Francis Teases Forthcoming “Need You” Remix By DJ Hanzel & Drezo

Drezo has officially been taken under Dillon Francis’ DJ Hanzel’s wing for a while now, and it seems that the two have collaborated for a minimal and deep remix of the breakout hit “Need You” by Dillon & NGHTMRE.

DJ Hanzel just this past weekend played his first-ever festival set at Imagine Music Festival, and we’re sure the crowd had a lot of good things to say about it – not least of all this banger of a remix. Very little of the original is still audible, instead replaced with hard kicks and a very Drezo-esque synthline, something we never get tired of hearing.

Though we’re still waiting on DJ Hanzel and Drezo’s original collaboration, “Anxiety,” this is a nice present in the meantime.

Maarten Vorwerk Announces Forthcoming Single With His Own Name On It

Commonly referred to as “EDM’s favorite ghost producer” (mostly by us), Maarten Vorwerk has made a career out of being one of the most prolific music producers you’ve never heard of. You can find his sound behind the careers of many top DJs in the EDM industry, though you’ll never hear him say which ones explicitly. Still, the tides are changing, and so too is Vorwerk’s outlook. What with fellow ghost producer Niles Hollowell-Dhar, more commonly known as KSHMR, coming out and releasing his own album this year, Vorwerk felt it was time to put out his own music, as well.

Better yet, he says, if you follow him on Snapchat (@maartenvorwerk), you’ve already heard a preview of it.

He says he still needs to find a label for the production, but jokes that it’s “such a bad track that I couldn’t sell it.”

Keep an eye out for the first ever original Maarten Vorwerk production, hopefully coming out soon!

Marshmello’s “Alone” Charting #1 On All Radio

When Marshmello released his first track on Monstercat in May, “Alone,” I don’t think either entity thought that the track would be topping the dance radio charts five months later – but here we are. By all metrics, “Alone” is leading the pack in the dance music radio sphere, taking into account all measurable radio stats.

Close on its heels though, “Closer” by The Chainsmokers & Halsey, but you could have guessed that right? The real surprise, aside from “Alone” itself, is Rain Man’s “Bring Back The Summer” at #3! Relative to the other tracks, it’s seen relatively less support on social media and in plays, but it’s doing very well on the radio, so props.

QUIX – Pokies [Dim Mak] (Free Download)

QUIX is on a serious roll, as of late, with each of his releases showing a more mature and refined approach than the last. Following his powerful remix of Skrillex and Nero’s “Promises” and a fiery original, “Laundry,” the New Zealand native has now come out with an unbelievable new release on Dim Mak as part of the label’s New Noise series.

“Pokies” takes the best of QUIX’s unique production style and throws it into new dimensions throughout the length of the song. Beginning with an almost SOPHIE-esque minimalism, relying on expert sound design to fill in the gaps between expected percussion hits, the song soon evolves into an overwhelming trap banger worthy of any major festival set. With his long-awaited collaboration with Boombox Cartel nearly out, it’s never been a better time to be a QUIX listener.

Check out “Pokies” below.

[Premiere] APLSOZ — Lost in the Soz EP [ThazDope Records]

No lack of attention is given to the music being churned out on both our nation’s coasts, but don’t get it twisted; there’s plenty of dank tunes getting produced between those lofty locales. Case in point: the Midwest. With artists like YhetiMt. AnalogueToadface, and many more calling this region home, it’s no surprise that others are following suit and diving headfirst into their art.

One of these forward thinking beat hustlers goes by the name of APLSOZ, and for good reason; his music is saucier than a deep-dish pizza. To properly fact-check that statement, one need go no further than his most recent release: the Lost in the Soz EP. Featuring four original tracks, one of which is a collaboration with fellow Midwest maestro, Spankalicious, the record  truly displays this artist’s affinity for all things heavy. Thick, syrupy bass lines provide the foundation for a synth-stew of epic proportions; the sound design here somehow manages to be both aggressive and spacey, a truly interesting feat. APLSOZ definitely went maximal for this release; the intersection of dubstep, trap, and future bass here is undeniable, drawing unmistakable comparisons to the current don of the scene, Bassnectar.

In other words, this kid is going places. Lost in the Soz is available now via ThazDope Records and can be purchased on Beatport, iTunes, and other digital retailers. Check out the full stream below and grab a copy for yourself if you’re feeling the vibes!
