Snareskin & Holly – Never Lost

Snareskin & Holly – Never Lost

In the latest release from the ‘Lowly Palace‘ label, Snareskin and Holly team-up to deliver ‘Never Lost’, a hard-hitting, future bass banger with infectious melodies. The European duo from Netherlands and Portugal, respectively, combined their different styles – Snareskin’s a lighter, upbeat future bass feel and Holly’s heavy bass lines and trap anthems – in this synth masterpiece.

The intro features a swirling collection of chimes and a vibrant synth line that progressively build into a rhythmic melody. The surging drop makes one feel as though they are in a high-speed chase with bright colors flashing by them as they race away from their pursuer.

Give it a listen and let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Destructo feat E40 & Too $hort – “All Nite”

Destructo feat E40 & Too $hort – “All Nite”

DJ/producer and founder of HARD Events Destructo has teamed up with E40 and Too $hort for another crackin’ G-House track. It goes by the name “All Nite” and it was premiered by Billboard.

The bass vibes are heavier than the heaviest of AC Slater’s production. The beat knocks hard to compliment the hook and sits back pretty throughout the verses. This single is just a taste of what’s to come on Destructo’s Renegade EP, slated for a March 31 release. Snoop Dogg is rumored to be a feature as well as Kevin Gates, Pusha T, Yo Gotti, Ty Dolla $ign, Problem, and more. The HARD head honcho is about his G-House movement, in case you weren’t aware. Do yourself a favor – pour a drink and bump this one really loud late at night.

Life in Color 2017 Slims Down For A Supersized Experience

Bigger isn’t always better, and Life in Color 2017 took that message to heart for its 10th Anniversary. The LiveStyle (formerly SFX) owned festival company puts on its flagship event in January in Miami, but this year the festival slimmed down and brought its paint to Wynwood. For 2017 there might not have been a ferris wheel, but there was plenty of good times to go around.

There were 3 very distinct stages offering something for everybody. The mainstage played on the arty industrial vibe of the Wynwood area, for an impressive result that topped 2016’s somewhat silly inflatable lion stage. From the mainstage revelers were treated to dope sets from Mija, Seven Lions, Diplo, and the red hot Marshmello. The RARE stage hosted the turn up squad as Carnage and his friends led the day. Attendees remarked that the amount of paint was toned down this year, and only really launched into crowds at the mainstage. For festival veterans, the general consensus is the less paint the better. Clearly those looking for the colorful paint had more than they knew what to do with.

Life in Color took a bit of a risk in downsizing on its 10th Anniversary, but in today’s festival environment only the strong survive. Big bloated festival properties did not do well in 2016, and SFX knows that better than anybody. Chalking up a win for LiveStyle, Life in Color sold out this year and showed that it has what it takes to continue on for years to come. Get ready as Life in Color hits the road to tour across the US in 2017.

Steve James & LIGHTS Unite for Empowering Single: Warrior

Steve James – Warrior (ft. LIGHTS)

Steve James has been exceptionally busy since his last original release, “In My Head.” Since his sophomore single, he’s gone on tour with Matoma and Vanic, produced “In the Name of Love” with Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha an played with the former in Ibiza, worked alongside Matthew Koma, and even found time to put out a track with Morgan Page. In that time he’s been nominated for 2 Grammy’s through his work on Justin Bieber’s 5x platinum album, Purpose. That’s an insane schedule and output, but he’s got so much more in store for us, as proven by his latest release and third single: “Warrior”.

Enlisting Canadian vocalist, LIGHTS, Steve’s produced what has to be his finest release yet; “Renaissance” and “In My Head” introduced a whole new sound to his fans and the industry alike, infusing addictive pop elements with dance music creativity, but Warrior stands a truly refined embodiment of the SJ style. The real impact from this song comes from its message though, one of empowerment and self belief. “Warrior” seeks to inspire listeners and give them the courage to fight through whatever adversity they may face in these admittedly tumultuous times. LIGHTS spoke with Noisey to explain the track’s origins and motives behind this message, and the two artists are pushing for fans to interact with the #ImFightingFor hashtag to share what they’re fighting for (or against) in their life. Check out the song now below, and be sure to share with LIGHTS and Steve James what it is you believe in on Twitter and Instagram!

Tickets For The Chainsmokers’ New Tour Are Super Expensive

The Chainsmokers just announced a massive 40-date arena tour across the US, but a lot of people are going to find it hard to afford tickets. It varies by venue, but GA tickets range from $40-$90 (with floor tickets in Toronto specifically exceeding $100) depending on section and area of the arena you want, with the most expensive tickets going for floor spots.

However, the VIP accommodations are where your wallets are going to start hurting. With packages ranging from $200 to $900+, and perks varying from access to soundcheck at even the lowest level, and at the highest level offering way, way more, some fans will no doubt go for the gold.

The Chainsmokers have assured fans that the shows will be “unlike anything” they’ve done before, especially considering they announced new stage production, as well. The tweet also mentions live music, so we might really be seeing a new era in Chainsmokers performances in 2017.

Anyone who has been to a show of ours before this is gonna be unlike anything you’ve seen from us! Live music x dj set production is WAY UP

Your EDM Premiere: Karmadella – Wait For You (feat. Connor Mac) [Jupiter Republic]

Here’s something a little different. Hailing from New Zealand, brotherly duo Karmadella come with a strong musical family background that’s translated to forward thinking and sophisticated electronic music with their single “Wait For You” with vocalist Connor Mac.

The single comes via Jupiter Republic which has quickly positioned itself at the forefront of the electronic space in New Zealand. “Wait For You” perfectly blends Connor Mac’s soulful vocals with complex production from Karmadella that seem them touch upon sounds from all across the board in one of the most forward-thinking ‘future bass’ releases I’ve heard in awhile.

Listen to Gareth Emery’s Monstercat Debut, “Saving Light”

In the last year, Monstercat has done releases for a slew of well-established producers in the EDM scene. 2016 brought artists like NERVOSeven LionsSlushii and Candyland to the label’s roster, as well as Marshmello, whose Monstercat debut “Alone” went off to become a #1 radio single. 2017 is looking up, and it all begins with the gloriously uplifting “Saving Light” from trance superstar Gareth Emery.

However, “Saving Light” is much more than a big release. Something much more valuable is at stake: human life. More often than we’d like to admit, bullying and prejudice results in the tragedy of suicide. No matter how much regret we hold, suicide can’t be undone.

In spite of that, Monstercat is looking to make a change in the world. The music video for “Saving Light” displays the harmful effects of bullying and shows how just one friend can save a life.

Throughout the month of February, Monstercat will be donating all profits from “Saving Light” to Ditch the Label in hopes of permanently ending bullying.
