Best Sets Of Beyond Wonderland 2017

BEYONDWONDERLAND2017
Insomniac took its attendees down the rabbit whole and into the endless sea this year with Beyond Wonderland – The Endless Sea. An oceanic spin on one of their trademark Wonderland raves, Beyond did not disappoint by going all out with under the sea themed stages, performers, and decor. Taking a break from its usual run at the San Manuel Amphitheater, this year the festival took place at the National Orange Show Event Center. Beyond brought out the big guns in terms of its musical lineup. Below are some highlighted sets that represent the best what was heard this past weekend.

Day 1 – Top 3

Cut Snake at The Aquarium – Pro surfers turned tech house DJs/producers Paul Fisher and Leigh Sedley brought their signature sound to the NOS Center, filling The Aquarium with nothing but techy sounds and good vibes.

Simon Patterson at Cheshire Cove – The psytrance was alive and well at Beyond, and no one brought it better than Simon Patterson, or as others spell it, Psymon Patterson. He took the crowd at Cheshire Cove down into an intergalactic portal that was as beautiful of a journey as it was hard hitting.

Shiba San at The Aquarium – The Dirtybird Records player brought his best to close out Day 1, dropping classic track after track, like his famous ‘Okay‘ and even treated the attendees to a few unreleased IDs. The booty tech connoisseur had the whole place jumping until the very end.

Day 2 – Top 3

Will Clarke at The Aquarium – Another Dirtybird regular, Will Clarke and his signature cuddle crew invaded The Aquarium on Day 2. He served up some dirty beats that ignited the night for everyone who was able to catch him, and brought everyone ‘Back To The Jungle‘.

Redlight at Upside-Down HouseLobster Boy Records label head Redlight absolutely wrecked the Upside-Down House, making it hard to do anything but move your body. He started with an ID that had beautiful vocals and some dirty beats to follow. He threw in some remixes of his well-known hits ‘9TS‘ and ‘Gold Teeth‘ to truly put the cherry on top of his perfect set.

Chris Lake at The Aquarium – Last but definitely not least is the man himself, Chris Lake. He brought his A-Game to Beyond, dropping his hit ‘Operator‘ and his fan favorite remix of ‘California‘. His entire set was bonkers and left everyone with aching legs from grooving hard the entire set.

Mija – Secrets (Crankdat Remix)

Mija

Mija – Secrets (Crankdat Remix)

Just when you thought ‘Secrets‘ by Mija couldn’t get any grittier, Crankdat gives us his electrifying rendition that is sure to make your heart rattle.

The song keeps the overall essence of the catchy tune and its energetic vocals, but the track goes into overdrive and drops into a serious headbanger. The upbeat track is flipped on its head and given a bass-heavy, gritty dubstep makeover. Crankdat manages to still capture the prettiness of the song. If you didn’t already know, Mija got the green lights from Tegan and Sarah for the use of their vocals on the original single. The vocals surely bring together the energy-driven vibe of the song, which Crankdat plays around with on his remix.

If you’re craving more of the OSWLA prodigy’s hardcore sound, you can grab tickets to Zedd’s Benefit Concert Welcome!. The concert features a stacked lineup with a diverse set of music genres and it’s all for a great cause. All proceeds for the concert will go to the ACLU. Skrillex, Imagine Dragons, Mija, and Halsey are a few artists scheduled to perform. This show is an incredible instance of the unifying principle of music, and its power to transform lives for the greater good. Don’t miss out! You can grab tickets here.

Dombresky Releases ‘Technikal’ On New Insomniac Label

Dombresky – Technikal

Dombresky is a producer who has been lighting up the charts as of late. ‘Technikal,’ which was released today via Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION, is a unique, extremely hot, garage style infused track. It had me bobbing my head from the second the groove hit, and by the time it was over, had me thirsting to hear it on a large format set up.

Dombresky has been nothing less of consistent in terms of his releases this year. He has put out numerous massive tracks via Tchami’s popular new imprint Confession, along with several other high profile remixes. It is exciting to see a house producer with such a unique but hard hitting flavor making such big waves and pushing consistently solid tracks.

‘Technikal’ is the first release to be put out via IN / Rotation, Insomniacs newest foray into the world of music releasing and licensing. According to Insomniac’s visionary CEO and Founder Pasquale Rotella, “the next revolution in our Insomniac Records family, IN / ROTATION was created to provide a unique platform for artists on all levels to showcase their music and more.”

Fans can expect nothing but the best from IN / Rotation. Rotella has stated how numerous free downloads from the best established and up and coming artists the scene has to offer can be expected from the platform. We are truly looking forward to seeing what this new imprint has up their sleeve. With their first release as an indicator, it seems like IN / Rotation means business! Stream ‘Technikal’ below.

Skrillex Collaborates With Spoon On Their Upcoming Album

The well-known rock band Spoon is confirmed to have had a collaborative music session with the widely popular electronic music duo Jack Ü. What was supposed to be a quick meeting with Diplo to punch up their funk-heavy track ‘Can I Sit Next to You‘ off their new forthcoming album Hot Thoughts turned into a prolonged jam-session with Skrillex. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Spoon’s keyboard/guitarist, Alex Fischel recounted the experience with Skrillex as such:

“There was one point where the computer glitched out and he just yanked out the audio interface and just kept going on another machine. And all of a sudden, he just goes, ‘Bah! Bah!’ just sampling his voice into the laptop microphone and he made a melody with that. It was like he had tourette’s or something.”

Over the years, Spoon has progressively gotten increasingly more creative and progressive with their tunes. It comes as no surprise that founding band member Britt Daniel’s greatest inspirations are none other than Bowie and Prince- he praises their artistic ability to transform ordinary genre classics into eclectic and creative hybrids. Experimenting with new sounds is nothing new to the rock band, in fact, it’s almost expected from them. So Skrillex seems like a perfect fit granted his long track record of musical collabs.

The Skrillex/Spoon collab track has yet to be released, so from here on out it’s a waiting game. Regardless of whether or not you’re a Spoon or Skrillex fan, something everyone can appreciate is the multi-genre collaboration they have going on.

Glastonbury Drops 2017 Lineup With Radiohead, Ed Sheeran & The xx

Glastonbury might be moving in 2019, but for this year at least, the festival will once again grace Worthy Farms with a lineup like no other. As one of the biggest music festivals in the world, the lineup accurately reflects many of the top names in music right now. Headlining this year’s festival are RadioheadFoo Fighters and Ed Sheeran. (The absence of one of the biggest names in music right now, The Weeknd, is definitely noticed.)

Rounding out the rest of the top lineup are a variety of dance and pop acts, from the likes of The xx and Major Lazer to Solange and Katy Perry. From the dance realm, there’s still Justice, Annie Mac, Clean Bandit, DJ Shadow, London Grammar, Moderat, Sasha & John Digweed, Boys Noize, & Noisia – lots of diversity and classic, solid acts on the lineup.

Glastonbury takes place from June 21 – June 25.

The first video showcases the visuals during newly released “Polaris” and the second video will give away the entire opening if that’s what you’re into.

Although this video footage looks pretty incredible, the YouTube user said, “The video doesn’t do the visuals justice. Go see the show.”

Your EDM Premiere: Pelussje – Collide feat. Josh Money

When you think of dance music, Italy generally isn’t the first locale to come to mind, and yet that’s where this intensely interesting new track from duo PELUSSJE originates.

“Collide” is a mish mash of bubbly synths and crooning vocals, courtesy of Josh Money, all combined in a future beats package reminiscent of some of our favorite producers from down under. It’s the kind of upbeat, downtempo track that’s able to make you move and sway without getting too turnt.

Check out “Collide” below, officially out tomorrow!
