Flight School – DMNDZ (feat. Satya Valli)

Flight School – DMNDZ (feat. Satya Valli)

Comprised of two kids from New York City, Flight School has its second lift off with Uprise Music. This unlikely duo first came together during a music class at their high school and between its two members, Flight School can play 7 instruments and has been producing for 12 years. At ages 20 and 17, these young hustlers want to redefine pop culture, starting in their own niche and branching out to the top charts.

Their second single, “DMNDZ,” is the follow-up to their early-2017 pop/dance hit “One Day feat. Angeline,” which saw some serious spins on SiriusXm’s Venus Channel and landed on Spotify’s USA Viral Chart. This house cut is testimony to how diverse the producers are as well as the influences that impact their sound.

“DMNDZ” is an instrumental blend of bass house and his characteristic g-house style. With a sweeping, low-end bassline and dark, reverberating vocal sampling, it is safe to say “DMNDZ”’s ardent beat will be heard pulsating across dance floors around the globe.

Instagram Slides An Upgrade Right Into Your DM With New Replay and Remix Features

Your direct messages with friends on Instagram just got a big improvement. Instagram Version 24 is now available, bringing upgrades to the photo and video features of its DM feature.

Like Snapchat, Instagram photos and videos in direct messages disappear after a single viewing. With this new version, however, you have the option of allowing images to replay. And that’s not all! Instagram’s newest photo editing program, aptly titled “Remix,” allows you to interact with friend’s photos like never before.

The replay function is a long overdue improvement for Instagram’s direct messaging feature. Users can now select from two options: “One View” or “Allow Replay.” The names are self-explanatory, but the replay option does have an interesting function. According to Instagram “[p]hotos and videos sent with “Allow Replay” loop automatically and your friends can tap and hold to pause.” This feature allows user to capture a funny moment in a video or pause to talk to a coworker. Use your imagination to think of all the other fun ways it could be used.

What we think is definitely the more innovative of the two additions is the new remix feature. As seen in the image above, this interesting bit of software lets the user respond directly to a photo with a photo of their own. The cool part? It uses the image you are replying to as a sticker! Add filters, rotate, resize, or draw on your friends to create a fun thread of pictures. Send posts back and forth between two people or start a group for even more excitement.

So hurry up and get to the App Store on your Android or iPhone. Download the newest version of Instagram. It won’t take long for people to start finding creative new ways to use these features!

Never Say Die Records Releases Fifth Annual Showcase Mix

If you’ve been following Never Say Die Records for some time, you know by now that every year they release an annual mix showcasing the best songs released on the label over the past year, as well as unreleased tunes that NSD artists have been testing and supporting all year. On the same day that Excision dropped his year mix, Never Say Die joined the party with their massive dubstep mix, jam-packed with several tunes you’ll definitely recognize from 2017, while the good majority of songs in the mix are yet to be released IDs.

As is tradition, the mix was put together by Never Say Die founder SKisM. Artists featured on the mix include SKisM himself, Zomboy, Eptic, MUST DIE!, Trampa, Space Laces and Spag Heddy among many others. Based on the ID filled tracklist alone, it looks like Never Say Die is about to have one heck of a 2018. Snapchat Introduces New Redesign That Separates Friends & Brands

In the midst of increasing pressure to grow its stagnant userbase, Snapchat has just introduced a new redesign to its flagship app that aims to put users back in control of what they see.

It’s a relatively simple change, but one that should please some users who were tired of Snapchat pushing branded content in their face. Essentially, your friends’ content and branded content will now be on different “pages” within the app, meaning that their stories are no longer intermingled. It also brings back auto-advance, so you can watch everyone’s Stories in a row without having to individually load the ones you want.

A small portion of users on iOS and Android will start getting the new update on Friday, and it should be rolled out to everyone within a few weeks.

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel said in an statement published on Axios:

“With the upcoming redesign of Snapchat, we are separating the social from the media, and taking an important step forward towards strengthening our relationships with our friends and our relationships with the media. This will provide a better way for publishers to distribute and monetize their Stories, and a more personal way for friends to communicate and find the content they want to watch.”

FIRST LISTEN: Martin Garrix Shares HQ Teaser Of New Collab With David Guetta

Martin Garrix is set to drop “So Far Away” with David Guetta on Friday, but fans have been curious about the identity of the vocalists, now that we know Ellie Goulding is no longer on the record. In a teaser posted to Facebook this morning, it was revealed that the featured artists are Jamie Scott (who has worked with many artists including One Direction, Rag’n’Bone Man, Crystal Fighters, Jessie Ware, Birdy and more) & a more unknown vocalist named Romy Dya, who possibly sang on the demo version of the track.

The preview features Dya & Scott’s vocals in harmony with a portion of the drop, which is quite similar to Garrix’s “Scared To Be Lonely,” featuring that higher pitched vocal loop and pop/future progression. Compared to the vocal section, the drop sounds rather disappointing, but we’ll wait for the full track to come out before passing judgment.

Check out the preview below.

Galactic Marvl – All I Think About [Armada Music]

Galactic Marvl delivers a not-so-typical dose of orchestral bass with his most recent single called “All I Think About.” Gorgeous vocals fill the duration as the soulful atmosphere goes into full effect. Between the commotion of electric guitar and emotional hooks, the music glows with personality, pushing boundaries within it’s own genre.

It turns out that this single is the title track from Galactic Marvl’s 2018 album. Future bass elements, natural percussion and real instruments blend for the ultimate effect. Armada Music, being the label behind the record, is investing into a promising new sound that should chemically react with the masses.

Excision Drops Lost Lands 2017 Mix & Compilation, Including New Song With Dion Timmer

In lieu of his annual Shambhala Mix, Excision has released his Lost Lands mix along with a full 27-track compilation featuring a new track with Dion Timmer & Messinian, “Hoods Up.” Of course, this makes sense – while his Shambhala mixes have no doubt been a large part of his annual appeal for fans around the world, the formation of his own music festival deserves special attention.

The 80 minute mix is filled with many of the tracks from the compilation, as well as plenty of other IDs and bangers that will leave you bloodied and bewildered, wondering just exactly what you’ve done to deserve this.

Both are available to stream now below.

Porter Robinson Releases Full Virtual Self EP

What more is there to say? The self-titled debut EP for Porter Robinson’s enigmatic side project Virtual Self is finally out, and it’s an absolute journey to travel though.

The EP contains three new songs: Particle Arts, a.i.ngel (Become God), and Key.

The opening track, “Particle Arts,” contains many of the same elements as the previously released “EON BREAK,” which closes the EP. Rather than look at this as a lack of creativity, I see it as more of a beginning/end dichotomy and representative of the EP’s sound being somewhat cyclical. “Particle Arts” is followed by “Ghost Voices” and then “a.i.ngel (Become God).”

“a.i.ngel (Become God)” is one of the more interesting tracks on the EP – not that they aren’t all. The style bounces around from trance to breaks to drum & bass and everything in between, serving as a perfect middle-point for the EP, encompassing a sort of impossibility of classification.

Next up is “Key,” which relies heavily on the melody provided by the soft pads and piano throughout the track. It seems to be more of a happy and carefree song than any of the others on the EP. And finally, the EP is end capped by Virtual Self’s debut single, “EON BREAK,” a wild and chaotic ride through DDR history.

Virtual Self’s debut performance will take place in Brooklyn, NY on December 8. What that will entail is anyone’s guess but we’re sure that it will be quite the unforgettable night.
