What So Not Announces Second Leg of North American Tour

While he just concluded the Asia leg of his ‘Beautiful Things‘ World Tour, it seems there is no rest for Chris Emerson, otherwise known as What So Not. After finishing what seemed like the entirety of a long and grueling world tour, Emerson, who also goes by Emoh Instead, has just announced a second leg of his North American tour.

Making stops in 16 cities, What So Not will share his brand new Not All the Beautiful Things album with those who did not get the chance to see the magic on the first leg. On the first leg he brought along his exceptional new live show, featuring himself on drum pads as well as occasional live guitar and vocals to perform songs from his new album, as well as his past classics.

Among the standout dates on the new tour announcement are his appearance at Lollapalooza Chicago, along with a Saturday afterparty that will precede his set on Sunday at the festival. Additionally he will play at Colorado’s Red Rocks Ampitheatre, Mad Decent Block Party in Brooklyn, and Life is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas. Take a look at the rest of the dates on the tour below, and make sure to grab tickets on his website.

Primoz – Over & Over (ft. John Bloom)

Primoz – Over & Over (ft. John Bloom)

Electronic duo Primoz just released a new, uplifting single titled ‘Over & Over‘ featuring vocalist John Bloom. Formerly known as Cuzzins, the pair combine elements of pop, electronica, bass, trap, moombahton, and R&B in their music.

This pop track is feel good music we all need for the summer. You can hear the Latin heritage influences incorporated into the trap dance production. John Bloom’s seductively rich R&B vocals perfectly compliment the single’s infectious melody. Everything came together in the studio when Bloom listened to the instrumental version and created lyrics on the spot.

Marty Matamoros and Lance Villa grew up in Los Angeles. The 90s and early 2000s had a huge impact on their careers as PRIMOZ. Their love for hip-hop and rap served as a gateway to productions under this new moniker. By 2011, they wrote, produced, mixed and mastered their own records. It’s their (massive) sound and remixes that have earned them worldwide exposure and they’ve been supported by Borgore, The Chainsmokers, Deorro, and Krewella.

In Spring of 2017, the duo released their ‘The Legacy EP’ via PandaFunk Records. It was premiered by Insomniac, Dash Radio, and SiriusXM. Last September, Far East movement gave them an opportunity for an official release of their buzzworthy single ‘Irreplaceable’ on BrednButter and Trapcity Records. 2018 shows no signs of stopping for them as their latest single ‘Cahuenga’ released on Tommie Sunshine’s Label ‘Brooklyn Fire Records’. When Dillon Francis supports this, you know bigger things will come. Their musical productions make them unique as they have no boundaries in their style. From moombahton, trap, melodic bass, latin music, and hard style, their music is limitless.

They’ll show you just how new artists enter the scene. Enjoy the track below and their monstrous sound; now available on all platforms.

UK Drug Use Reaches Record High Levels

People in the UK, specifically young adults aged 16 to 24, are taking more Class A drugs than previous statistics in over 25 years. Class A drugs include crack cocaine, ecstasy (MDMA), LSD, and methamphetamine (crystal meth). Because cocaine prices have dropped, the number of powder cocaine and ecstasy cases has increased.

New statistics released by The Crime Survey of England and Wales’ Home Office reveal some disturbing numbers that have only worsened over the past decade. According to their statistics, 8.4 percent of 16 to 24 year olds used Class A substances during the 2017-2018 period. Compared to 4.3 percent in 2016-2017, youths today are more involved in these dangerous drugs than we think. It’s also reported that 3.5 percent of people aged 16-59 had taken Class As, an increase from 3 percent in 2007 and 2008.

Addaction, one of the UK’s prominent drug, mental health, and alcohol charities has been watching these number meticulously each year. Jacqueline Baker-Whyte, a worker at Addaction stated the dangers of these drugs saying, “The ‘quality’ is usually poor and the side effects can be horrendous.”

While a majority of users surveyed claimed they only took the substances once or twice a year, organizations must find a way to combat lethal drugs from hitting the streets. At music festivals, drugs have always been an item on the top of the list to keep out. Too many people have lost their lives due to these substances that are either sold or brought into major events. If you or someone you know needs help with drug addition, alcohol, or mental health, check out the Addaction website here to find support.

Your EDM Premiere: Birthdayy Partyy Serves Up Wild “Monophobia” Remix [FREE GIFT]

Birthdayy Partyy just transformed deadmau5‘s latest track “Monophobia” featuring Rob Swire into an untamed, bass house heater — and it’s available for free download right now.

The original is so exquisite it’s almost untouchable, but for those craving a harder “drop,” Birthday Partyy has you covered. The duo accentuates the original build before switching it up into a straight up party anthem, which stays true to their own style. If you want to have your cake and eat it too, then this is the remix for you.

Twin brothers Jon and Bryan hailing from Chicago have caught the attention of The Chainsmokers, Blasterjaxx and Kayliox, and have supported acts including Flux Pavilion, Joyryde, and Brohug. Their Spring Awakening set was a party in itself and there’s plenty more where that came from.

The two insist, “2018 is the year of the partyy!”

As for the remix, they went with their gut on this one. “Since there was no way we could make it sound like a mau5 track, we opted to add crunchy glitches inbetween the main motif for that old school electro house feel in a modern bass house style — with a Partyy twist of course.”

It’s always someone’s birthday, and today we can all be treated to a gift with this free download! Enjoy!

The Lost Boys – Goodnight (feat. Brendan Bennett)

We last covered The Lost Boys a few months back off the hot announcement of their first ever festival booking and new single with Griff Clawson. Now, I’m happy to report that they’ve done it again with another hit with featured vocalist Brendan Bennett in a song called “Goodnight.”

The record is a fun college record that perfectly encapsulates the kind of pop/edm crossover records that’s absolutely smashing it among college crowds lately. Brendan’s bouncy hip-hop swagger also adds another dimension to the record’s catchy future-bass instrumental.
