At Deugene Music we take fraud prevention and copyright compliance very seriously.
These guidelines explain how we handle potential violations, protect artist royalties, and ensure a safe and fair distribution environment.

Purpose

Our goal is to keep our platform free from fraudulent or infringing activity.
When potential issues arise, we review the case carefully and give our clients the opportunity to resolve the matter before more serious action is taken.

Violation Triggers

Situations that may trigger a compliance review include, but are not limited to:

  • Intellectual property or trademark infringement

  • Significant levels of artificial or manipulated streaming

  • Violations of DSP (Digital Service Provider) Terms of Use

  • Violations of YouTube monetization policies

Review & Warning Process

First Notice
If repeated violations occur within a 60-day period, we will issue a formal warning and request corrective action.

Second Notice
If the same issues continue or if new infringing activity is detected within 60 days, a second warning is issued.
This may include a specific plan and deadlines to prevent further action.

Account Termination Review
After the second notice, we will assess whether continued distribution is possible.
In extreme or deliberate cases, Deugene Music reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to our services immediately.

Possible Actions

If fraudulent or infringing activity is confirmed, we may:

  • Remove or take down the affected content

  • Withhold and place royalties in escrow

  • Disable distribution to specific DSPs

  • Terminate end-user or client accounts

  • Deduct related legal or operational costs from future payouts

Blocked Accounts & Unblocking

When an account is blocked for investigation, the client will receive an email requesting verification within 5 business days.
To restore access, we may require:

  • Updated and accurate client information

  • Government ID (passport or national ID)

  • Artist profiles, social media links, and supporting historical data

If the requested details are not provided within 5 business days, the account will remain blocked and royalties will be held in escrow.

Escrow & Royalty Withholding

Royalties connected to suspicious activity are held for up to 24 months to comply with DSP requirements.
Funds are released when:

  • The client proves the activity was legitimate, or

  • No valid claim is received within the holding period.

Commitment to Fairness

Deugene Music is dedicated to protecting the rights of creators and labels while maintaining a transparent, secure distribution network.
By following these guidelines, our clients help safeguard the music ecosystem for everyone.
