Deezer’s latest data has sent shockwaves through the industry: AI-generated songs now account for 44% of daily new uploads across streaming platforms, up from just 1% in early 2025.

However, the consumption numbers tell a very different story. Despite representing nearly half of new content, AI-generated tracks account for only 1% to 3% of total streams. The data suggests most AI music is being uploaded for speculative purposes—gaming algorithms, filling catalogs, or attempting micro-royalty harvesting—rather than genuine listener demand.

Platform responses:

Spotify removed 75 million AI-generated tracks in 2025 alone

Deezer reports daily AI submissions have exploded from 10,000 to 75,000 tracks per day

For our artists: This flood creates both noise and opportunity. Human-created, authenticated music is becoming more valuable precisely because it’s rarer amid the AI wave. The green “Verified” badge may become as important as a Grammy nomination for discovery.
